How Many Planets in Gemini and They’re Doing What? ~ 30 July 2012

This must be a short post today. Late next week (or maybe a bit beyond) I’ll be able to post something more significant. But for now, brevity is the soul of the limited time available (and that’s why it’s important to book your consults!).

So, how many planets are in Gemini? Is this a trick question? Maybe. How many?

Four. There are four planets in Gemini. No, I am not counting Venus and Jupiter twice in honor of Gemini’s duplicity. Vesta, Jupiter, Ceres and Venus now transit Gemini. And, in case you’re counting, the centaur Asbolus, noted for the need to follow intuition with impeccable grace, recently inched into Gemini. This should be fun for second-guessing the gut or arm chair quarter backing.

The stack up of planets reminds me of Yogi Berra’s quote, “when you get to the fork in the road, take it.” The problem is, life presents more than a two-prong fork. In fact, the fork(s) may consist(s) of two four-prong forks or one eight-prong fork (four planets times two for Gemini). Consternation comes from the consideration of option-oriented, multiple right (or wrong) answers. Pick well. And if you don’t, as soon as you realize the current track does not follow your original or revised objectives, pick again.

For all intents and purpose, the cluster of planets in Gemini all aspect Mars and Saturn, who stand on both sides of Haumea, a most creatively inspired planet. This is not a time for hesitation. This is a time for getting to it and advancing your causes. Yes, Mercury is retrograde, but for a short time longer. Get your stuff done behind the scenes and get ready to get cranking. When Mercury turns, make known the work you’ve prepared. Saturn and Mars intend to respect and reward those who put their action where the declared plans are.

Within all these patterns, especially the potential harshness or ruthlessness of a Mars-Saturn alignment, it is possible that an edge can creep out. Make a point to be fair and play nice in the sandbox. If debating with people in online forums or slugging it out in the comment section of a news article, decorum is welcome. In the past days, I’ve observed a rage of hostility, likely based on life frustrations, carelessly slung about on sites supposedly dedicated to professional advancement. It does make the posting party seem... difficult to engage, uncooperative. Saturn and Mars are in Libra, which supposedly adores cooperation. Saturn loves the high bar. Mars loves vaulting over it. High road comments produce longer lasting desirable effects... so the theory goes.

Finally, transits through Gemini remind us of the two sides of a coin. Preaching to the choir, while fun, may not be effective. Attempting to convert the unconvertible, may appeal to a crusading nature, but may lack results. Meanwhile, says Saturn, “Tick tock! Are you using Mars today?”

Mars wants to help you. He wants to aid you in accomplishing great things. All you have to do is take two small steps forward every day toward your most major goals in life. Playing the game of Saturn-sez, with dedication will get you closer to satisfaction faster than you might believe possible.

In honor of Saturn and his clock-mastery, that’s it for today. Look for more soon.
